With the concerns about coronavirus, Firefly Sisterhood is taking the health recommendations from our top health officials seriously. Firefly Sisterhood is "open" and available for any women who finds themselves diagnosed with breast cancer and going through treatment during this scary time. You are NOT alone. Our Program Managers work from home and can help find you the support of a Firefly Guide. We promise to respond to all requests for a Firefly match within 24 hours. All Firefly Guides will offer support through text messages, real-time video chats like Skype and Face Time, and telephone conversations during this time of "social distancing" and self-quarantine.
Get SupportThrough this pandemic, Firefly has pivoted to a virtual model of support, and with our financial help, and we are expanding our services based upon the response from the cancer care community because: • Women diagnosed with breast cancer are going to screenings, treatments, and surgeries . . . . alone. • Their caregivers are distraught as their loved one goes alone to their appointments. • Long-term survivors experience stress and anxiety from recurrence, medications, and the lack of medical oversight.
Firefly mentors (Guides) are breast cancer survivors who have chosen to volunteer their time and hearts to support women experiencing breast cancer.
How It WorksWe will connect you with a Firefly Guide who has experienced what you are going through. You can then email, call or meet in person. It’s up to you.
Watch The VideoWe are a Minnesota nonprofit, who has served over 1700 women across the state and upper midwest.
About UsAs a mentor you’ll be the source of hope for women going through breast cancer. You’ll be matched with a recently diagnosed woman in your area and have the opportunity to bring light to her darkest breast cancer days.
